Everett,WA : Everett woman killed in multiple-vehicle accident on I-5 on November, Sunday 12th 2017
A woman died and at least two other people were taken to a local hospital after a late-night crash involving five cars and a truck Sunday on I-5 in Everett.
The crash, which blocked the road for five hours, was reported around 11:40 p.m. just north of Everett Avenue, according to a Washington State Patrol memo.
Kathleen Mentele, 57, of Everett, died at the scene, the memo said.
A Lynnwood woman, 63, and a Shoreline woman, 58, were transported by ambulance to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
The vehicles were headed south. Three cars initially collided due to a disabled vehicle, possibly parked on the shoulder, troopers reported in the memo.
Two other vehicles struck the first three, and Mentele’s Mazda also was then hit by a tractor truck, which also struck some of the other vehicles.
The crash remains under investigation.
