Port Orange, FL : 65-year-old man struck and killed by a vehicle in Volusia County on Friday night, December 11, 2015

A 65-year-old Port Orange man was fatally struck by a vehicle Friday night in Port Orange, the Port Orange Police Department said.

Louis Cunningham, 67, of New Smyrna, crashed his pickup truck into pedestrian Noel Nelson at South Ridgewood Avenue and Commonwealth Boulevard shortly before 9:30 p.m., said Port Orange police Lt. Scott Brozio.

Nelson died at the scene and Cunningham wasn’t injured, Brozio said.

It's unknown if Nelson was in a crosswalk when he was struck.

The crash remains under investigation.
