Eugene, OR : Driver crashes pickup into house in Lebanon on Thursday, September 22, 2016
The driver of a pickup truck ran the vehicle through a sign and a telephone pole and into a house on South Santiam Highway in Lebanon on Thursday, police said.
About 8:15 a.m., Oregon State Police troopers and emergency personnel went to the crash site. They found that a 1990 Chevy pickup, driven by Les Engstrom, 56, of Jefferson, had been eastbound when, for unknown reasons, it drifted off the highway and plowed into the house at 4360 South Santiam Highway.
The house was unoccupied. Engstrom suffered only minor injuries and declined medics’ offer to transport him for treatment.
Information from the state police did not mention the possible cause of the crash or any charges, stating only that the investigation into the incident is continuing.
