Knoxville ,TN : Single vehicle crash involving 2 pedestrians on Broadway Wednesday afternoon ,July 15th 2015

Two pedestrians were struck by a motorist Wednesday afternoon near Broadway and Cecil Avenue.

The pedestrians were trying to cross Broadway about 5:07 p.m. when they were hit by a northbound vehicle.

One pedestrian, a female, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to University of Tennessee Medical Center. The second pedestrian was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The motorist stayed on the scene, then was taken for a blood draw and ultimately released. The vehicle was towed to a city pound pending the investigation.

Numerous Knoxville Police Department officers responded to the scene including an accident reconstruction team.
