MERCED COUNTY, CA : Man killed following head-on crash into box truck on Tuesday, 26th December 2023

A man was killed Tuesday morning after crashing head-on into a box truck in Merced County.

The California Highway Patrol says a man, 20, a resident of Atwater, was driving his Jeep south down State Route 59, near McNamara Road.

For unknown reasons, CHP says the Jeep driver veered left and crashed head-on into a box truck around 10:47 a.m.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and the box truck driver was not injured.
