New York, N.Y : Bicyclist badly injures man after crashing into him on Upper East Side on Saturday night, November 5, 2016
A bicyclist slammed a man crossing an Upper East Side street then sped off, leaving the pedestrian seriously injured on Saturday night, police and witnesses said.
The man, whose age was not immediately released, was struck as he crossed E. 70 St. at First Ave. around 8:10 p.m., police said. His head slammed the asphalt after the impact and he began convulsing , witnesses said.
“I heard his head crack like a coconut,” said a worker at a nearby building who declined to give his name.
The cyclist had not been apprehended as of early Sunday.
