NAUGATUCK, CT : A multi-vehicle cras at Route 8 north in Naugatuck on Sunday, 11th November 2018

Route 8’s northbound lanes have reopened after officials had closed off the area to clear the scene of a multi-vehicle crash.

Shortly after 4 p.m., the Connecticut Department of Transportation, through its Twitter account, reported the crash, which occurred between exits 25 and 26, had been cleared.The crash was reported at 1:54 p.m. Monday.

At least one passenger car was seriously damaged in the crash. Images show the vehicle’s rear had been folded up into its back seat.

A second car that was pulled to the shoulder of the highway showed heavy front end damage, but it’s unclear how the accident occurred.
