Wahiawa, HI: Motorcyclist dies after crash on Wilikina Drive on Friday, July 24th 2015

A motorcyclist died Friday morning when he lost control of his bike on Wilikina Drive in Wahiawa, about two-thirds of a mile north of Kamananui Drive.The accident was reported just before 5:30 a.m.The 29-year-old male motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed before he lost control, slid into a utility pole, and continued back onto the road where he collided with a Dodge sedan.The motorcyclist died at the scene. The 25-year-old male driver of the sedan was uninjured.Wilikina Drive was closed between Kaukonahua and Kamananui Roads for several hours after the accident.The death marks the 30th traffic fatality on Oahu this year, compared to 34 at the same time last year.
