St. Johns County , FL : One person killed and another Seriously injured in Crash after Beck veered right into the entrance of S. Francis Road while attempting to make a U-turn on Friday ,February 13th 2015

An Illinois man was killed and a St. Augustine man was seriously injured in a crash Friday night in St. Johns County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
William B. Beck of Taylorville, Ill. was driving his 2014 Ford Fusion on Florida 16 around 8:45 p.m. Charles Keith Missildine, 24, of St. Augustine, was traveling behind him in a 1991 Ford Mustang.

Beck veered right into the entrance of S. Francis Road, attempting to make a U-turn on Florida 16. The FHP reported Beck apparently didn’t see the Mustang approaching. Missildine hit the left side of the Fusion within the intersection.

Beck was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, Patricia S. Beck was taken to Flagler Hospital with minor injuries. Missildine was taken to UF Health Jacksonville hospital with serious injuries. Everyone involved in the accident had their seatbelts buckled.

Roads in the area were blocked in both directions after the crash until the scene could be cleared.
