Bishop Fenwick High School is mourning the death of a 17-year-old who died in a car crash Thursday night.

Noah Theiss of Springboro, who had just completed his junior year earlier that day, was a front-seat passenger in a car when the 15-year-old driver lost control and crashed.

Investigators said the 15-year-old driver, from Centerville, was traveling eastbound on Springboro Road near Red Lion-Five Points Road in Clearcreek Township when he lost control of the vehicle, drifted to the right of the road, struck a utility pole and rolled over several times, according to police officials.

The driver was taken to Dayton Children's South and a 16-year-old back seat passenger was taken to Atrium Hospital for treatment and released. Theiss was pronounced dead on the scene.

Ohio State Highway Patrol said speed and no seat belts “were contributing factors in the crash.”
