New Athens, IL : 25-year-old woman killed in crash near New Athens on Saturday, 26th January 2019

A woman was found dead in a wrecked van early Saturday morning near New Athens, according to St. Clair County Deputy Coroner Dennis Nichols.

Kimberly S. Widel, 25, of Sparta, was pronounced dead at 3:45 a.m. Saturday, Nichols said.

The preliminary cause of death was blunt-force trauma.
