Northampton,MA : Driver injured in rollover crash in Hatfield on February, Thursday 15th 2018
Northampton, Massachusetts
A 62-year-old Hatfield woman was in stable condition at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield after a rollover crash likely caused by thick fog on North Hatfield Road Thursday night, according to Hatfield Police.
Hatfield Police Chief Michael Dekoschak said Friday there had been no update on the condition of Diane Lamory.
Lamory was the only occupant of the vehicle, a 1997 Chevrolet Geo, at the time of the crash and police say she was wearing a seat belt when her car overturned.
According to Dekoschak, a witness saw Lamory’s car veer to the right in dense fog while driving south just before 9 p.m. The witness then saw the car correct to the left, cross the road and hit a tree, before rolling over and trapping the driver inside.
“It appears as though dense fog was the main contributing factor in this accident,” Dekoschak said.
Hatfield firefighters freed Lamory using the Jaws of Life and she was taken to Baystate by Hatfield EMS, he said.
