Seabrook, N.H : Man dies in crash after two-state pursuit on Interstate 95 on Sunday, December 20, 2015
A driver accused of leading police on a chase through Massachusetts died after crashing his car in New Hampshire, state police say.
Massachusetts State Police contacted New Hampshire State Police around 7 p.m. Sunday, notifying them that troopers were pursuing a Ford Explorer on Interstate 95 that was headed toward the border in Seabrook.
New Hampshire state police deployed spike strips along the border.
After hitting the spike strips, the Explorer continued about three-quarters of a mile before veering into the center median, authorities said. The Explorer struck a guardrail, continued across the median and struck another guardrail before coming to a rest underneath the Route 107 overpass, police said.
The driver suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.
He was identified as Jeffrey Hiltz, 35, of Danvers, Massachusetts.
