Valparaiso, IN : 2 killed, another injured in crash outside Valparaiso on Thursday, 30th April, 2020

Two people died and a third person was injured in a collision between a car and a semitractor-trailer Thursday afternoon outside of Valparaiso, police said.
Deputies with the Porter County Sheriff’s Department were called around 1:35 p.m. Thursday to Indiana 130 west of County Road 625 West in Union Township, according to a release from Cpl. Ben McFalls, public information officer with the Porter County Sheriff’s Department.
An initial investigation and witness statements showed that a semi-truck was eastbound on Ind. 130 when a yellow Ford passenger car was traveling west on Ind. 130. For unknown reasons, the passenger car went left of center into the eastbound lane of travel and collided with the truck.
The male driver and female front seat passenger of the car died at the scene. Their identities are being withheld pending notification of their families, officials said.
