Greensboro ,NC : Florida truck driver charged after rig hits motorcyclists parked alongside I-85, killing Two on Friday ,July 17th 2015

Authorities say a truck driver faces charges after his 18-wheeler hit a group of motorcyclists parked alongside Interstate 85 in Greensboro, killing two.

The News & Record of Greensboro reports (http://bit.ly/1ecfMCI) the N.C. Highway Patrol said 34-year-old Daniel Santiago Serna, of Hollywood, Florida, is charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle and felony hit-and-run following Friday's accident. Serna was scheduled to appear in court Monday.

Investigators think Serna may have fallen asleep at the wheel when his truck drifted onto the shoulder and hit the motorcyclists.

The patrol said 37-year-old Arnie M. Morris of Woodbridge, Virginia, was standing on the shoulder and died at the scene. On Sunday, 51-year-old Kenneth N. Jefferson of South Chesterfield, Virginia, died at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

Four other motorcyclists were injured.
