New Hampshire State Police say a driver overdosed on heroin and crashed his car on Interstate 93 in Windham.

Police say 28-year-old Michael Kendall of Greenfield, Massachusetts, lost consciousness while driving and crashed into a guardrail Saturday afternoon.

The investigating trooper says Kendall was unconscious and not breathing when the trooper arrived. The trooper says he discovered that Kendall had used heroin about a half an hour before the crash.

Emergency crews were able to revive him using the overdose drug Narcan. Kendall was taken to the hospital where he was later arrested on charges of operating after suspension and reckless driving.
