Ames, IA : Man riding motorcycle dies following crash in central Iowa on Thursday night, August 28, 2014

A man riding a motorcycle has died following a crash in central Iowa. The Story County Sheriff's Office says 52-year-old Benjamin Parsons, of Boone, was traveling on a Harley Davidson motorcycle Thursday night on Highway 30 near Ames when he left the roadway and was thrown from the bike. No others vehicles were involved. Parsons was airlifted to a hospital in Des Moines, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The crash remains under investigation.
