A Lanesborough man was listed in critical condition at Bay State Medical Center following an early morning July 1 car crash, town police said.
Brandon C. DeCelles, 22, of Scott Road was driving a 1998 Subaru Legacy south along Cold Spring Road when the vehicle veered into the northbound lane and then went off of the road. The vehicle missed one utility pole, struck a second pole and then crashed into a very large concrete block situated at the front of the A-Frame Bakery, according to police. The crash site is adjacent to the juncture of Cold Spring Road and the Taconic Trail. Police said the crash occurred at about 4:50 a.m..
Police said that Decelles was the only occupant of the vehicle. He was initially transported to Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield by Village Ambulance Service with serious injuries, police said. DeCelles was later transported to Bay State Medical Center and listed in critical condition, police said.
Police Sgt. Scott McGowan is investigating the accident. Criminal charges are anticipated at the conclusion, according to police.
