Northampton County, PA : One person dead after a two-vehicle crash on Route 611 in Williams Township on Monday afternoon, December 28, 2015

A 23-year-old Easton man died Monday afternoon after a pickup truck crossed into his lane on Route 611 in Williams Township and hit his car head-on, Pennsylvania State Police at Belfast report.

Dallas Poff, who was driving a 2004 Nissan Altima, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Northampton County Coroner's Office, police said.

Daniel Braeunig, 36, of the Easton area, who was driving a 2008 Toyota Tundra, was taken to a St. Luke's Hospital with undisclosed injuries, police said. A nursing supervisor at the hospital declined to provide his condition.

Braeunig was driving north at 4:22 p.m. in the 600 block of South Delaware Drive when he crossed into the southbound lane and struck the oncoming Nissan head-on, police said. The Toyota spun counterclockwise and rolled onto its roof, police said. The Nissan spun 180 degrees and ended up facing northwest, police said.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, police said.

The investigation is continuing, police said. Police did not detail what if any charges Braeunig would face.

Police did not provide exact addresses for either man other than to say they were from Easton.

The state police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit and Forensic Services Unit and firefighters from Williams Township and Easton as well as the Easton Emergency Squad assisted at the scene, police said.
