London, OH : Three vehicle crash injuries one on Tuesday, 26th February 2019

A three-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon resulted in a London woman being injured and charged with multiple counts.

According to a press release from the Laurel County Sheriff's Office, Deputy Jake Miller, along with Deputy Jamie Etherton, investigated the accident which occurred on the Hal Rogers Parkway at the intersection of Pine Top Road, approximately two miles west of London around noon. According to the deputies, a Toyota Tundra was traveling northbound on Pine Top Road and apparently pulled in front of the path of an east bound loaded gravel truck, colliding with it. Also struck was a Chevrolet pickup truck stopped at Pine Top Road and the Hal Rogers Parkway. The gravel truck then overturned on the south shoulder of Hal Rogers Parkway. The two pickup trucks came to a rest partially blocking the eastbound lane of the parkway.

The driver of the Toyota Tundra was identified as Carla Reed, 54, of London. She was transported by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to St. Joseph London for treatment of possible injuries. Through investigation it was determined that Reed was apparently under the influence at the time of the crash. She has been charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence - first offense; failure to wear seat belts; failure to produce insurance card; and possession of marijuana.

Assisting at the scene of the crash was the Colony Volunteer Fire Department, Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, and the London-Laurel Rescue Squad. Eco-tech was called to the scene to assist in the cleanup.
