OSAGE COUNTY, OK : 16-year-old in custody after crashing stolen vehicle during chase with authorities in Osage County on Tuesday, 16th April 2024

A 16-year-old is facing multiple charges following an early morning stolen vehicle chase in Osage County on Tuesday.

Shortly before 5 a.m., Osage County deputies in collaboration with Ponca City Police were alerted to a stolen vehicle traveling through Osage County toward Ponca City.

Authorities attempted to initiate a stop and the driver fled which prompted the chase.

The vehicle later crashed near the intersection of 14th Street and Highland Avenue.

The 16-year-old driver got out of the vehicle and ran on foot, but was taken into custody shortly after.

A Ponca City Police officer had minor injuries from the chase, but received immediate medical attention and is expected to make a full recovery.
