Montgomery, AL : An Alabama man was killed in a crash on Tuesday, June 20, 2017

An Alabama man was killed in a crash on Interstate 10 near exit 5 on Tuesday morning.

Ryan Michael Prather, 28, of Saraland was driving behind Patrick Henry, 61, of Mobile, Alabama, eastbound just before 5 a.m.

Prather collided with the rear of a trailer being pulled by Henry's car, causing it to veer to the northwest through the grass median, into the westbound lane and into the path of a third vehicle.

The third vehicle, driven by Jason Weems, 38, of Pensacola, avoided colliding with Prather but struck several items of debris, causing damage. Prather's car continued into the treeline, where the vehicle stopped.

Neither Weems nor Henry was injured. Prather was killed in the crash.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident and will determine whether any charges will be filed.
