Renton, WA : 2 injured as driver fleeing police in stolen car crashes in the 300 block of Rainier Ave on Thursday, 14th March 2019

Two people were injured when a driver trying to run from police in a stolen car crashed into another car in Renton Thursday morning.
It was around 4 a.m. when a Renton police officer in the 300 block of Rainier Ave. South spotted a passenger getting out of a car while wearing a ski mask, according to Commander Dan Figaro with Renton Police. The officer ran the license plate only to find the car had been reported as stolen.The officer then followed the driver until backup arrived then attempted to pull over the driver around Grady Avenue and Talbot Street, Figaro said.
The driver sped off, and police didn't give chase, officials said. But moments later after the car rounded a curve, police found it had smashed into another vehicle at SE 172nd St. and 108th Ave. SE.
The driver of the stolen car, a woman in her 20s, was taken to the hospital with what Renton Fire officials described as "moderate injuries."
