A 73-year-old man died Thursday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on Tucson's northwest side, authorities said.

A spokesman for the Pima County Sheriff's Department said Lawrence Junco, 73, died when he crashed into a traffic signal pole near the intersection of North La Cholla Boulevard and West Overton Road.

The PCSD said Junco, who was the only person in the vehicle, was wearing his seat belt.

It is unknown if speed or impairment were factors and the collision is still under investigation.
