Man dies in single car accident on Interstate 59 in Mississippi

A Hattiesburg man has died after being in a single car accident Saturday night.Mississippi Highway Patrol Cpl. Jason Gazzo said troopers arrived at the accident about 9:04 p.m. on Interstate 59 near the 16-mile marker.Gazzo said Matthew Mitchell, 54, was traveling northbound and lost control of his silver 1999 Acura SLX, went off the road to the left and overturned several times.Mitchell was pronounced dead on the scene. Mitchell was wearing a seat belt. Gazzo said alcohol is not believed to have played a role.
