OKLAHOMA CITY, OK : One killed, three critically injured in serious crash involving taxi in northeast OKC on Sunday, 4th November 2018

One person was killed and three others were critically injured in a serious crash involving two vehicles, including a taxi, in northeast Oklahoma City.

Around 5:30 a.m., two people were ejected in a head-on collision near the intersection of Northeast 23rd Street and Bryan Avenue, according to police. One person died in the crash after the driver of a silver vehicle crossed the centerline, hitting the taxi."He went left-of-center and then crashed head-on into a taxi cab," said Master Sgt. Gary Knight, with the Oklahoma City Police Department.

The driver of the silver vehicle, identified as Charles Greenfield, was under the influence of illegal drugs, police said. Police will not release the type of drugs Greenfield was on until his bloodwork comes back, according to officials.

A person who called police described the moments before the crash.

"The guy that's trying to get out of this car ... uh ... was driving erratically down 23rd Street," the caller told a dispatch officer.

A passenger in Greenfield's vehicle died at the scene, and a passenger in the taxi was thrown out through the windshield, according to police. Greenfield and the taxi driver were critically injured.

Greenfield, who has drug convictions in Oklahoma County, was arrested on a complaint of second-degree murder. He will be taken to jail once he's released from the hospital.
