One person killed and another injured after vehicle struck a fence and then a cement truck on Saturday ,May 23rd 2015

Officials said it happened near 36th and L streets just before 1 a.m.

A white sedan was headed eastbound on L Street when it lost control and slide across several lanes of traffic, struck a fence and then a cement truck.

The sedan then caught fire.

The driver of the sedan, Michael Troy Harnett, 22, was transported to Nebraska Medicine with life-threatening injuries.

The passenger of the sedan was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. Officials have not released the name of the victim.

Officials say speed and alcohol are considered factors in the crash.

The investigation is still ongoing.
