NORTON, MA : Employee escapes injury in Norton accident on Thursday, December, 7th 2017
An employee of a local business narrowly escaped injury Thursday night when a car crashed into a building near the Attleboro line.
The accident was reported about 6 p.m. at Bedrock Granite at 421 Old Colony Road (Route 123).
“Apparently the driver of a vehicle didn’t know the area and did a U-turn and another car hit them and the car went into the building,” Fire Capt. Benton Keene Jr. said of the vehicle that made the illegal turn.
“An employee was sitting right where the impact was but the car stopped about a foot short of the employee. He was very lucky,” Keene said, adding the employee wasn’t injured.
The town’s building inspector was called.
About a half hour before that accident, a woman was taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro as a precaution after being involved in a two-vehicle accident on the Route 123 overpass over Interstate 495, Keene said.
