Johnstown, PA : Man dies in fiery crash in Washington Township on Thursday night, November 10, 2016

The Cambria County coroner's office is working to identify a 30-year-old East Freedom man killed in a vehicle accident Thursday night.

Just after 11 p.m., first responders were dispatched to the 5000 block of Portage Street (Route 53) in Washington Township, where a 1998 GMC Sierra crossed the center line of the roadway and struck a tree.

After the impact, Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees said the vehicle rolled over and caught fire, trapping the driver inside. The truck was fully engulfed by the time firefighters from Portage and Lilly arrived.

Lees said the man was pronounced dead at the scene and an autopsy was ongoing Friday morning.

The identity of the man is not yet confirmed due to the severity of his injuries, Lees added.

State police in Ebensburg are also investigating.
