WHITESBORO, NY : A police officer has died in a car crash on Wednesday,11th April 2018

Authorities in upstate New York say a police officer has died in a car crash.

Police say the crash happened Wednesday night in Whitesboro. A pickup truck struck the officer’s patrol car at an intersection while the officer was driving to a call.

The officer was taken to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Utica where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the pickup truck was treated for injuries that are not life-threatening.

Police have not identified the officer.

The crash is under investigation.
