Slick road conditions may be to blame for a rollover crash this evening on Interstate 70 that killed a 69-year-old man, troopers said.
The driver, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash reported around 6 p.m. in the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 just passed the Ohio 49 ramp, said Sgt. John C. Chesser of the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Dayton Post.
“As he was coming around the curve on the ramp for an unknown reason he went off the roadway on the right side, rolled the vehicle a couple times,” Chesser said. The driver was not wearing a seat belt.
“Weather may have played a factor in the crash,” Chesser said, the cause of which remains under investigation.
