Staunton, VA : Thomas A. Buracker, 32, died in a single-vehicle crash in Page County on Wednesday night, August 31, 2016

Authorities said a Staunton man was killed Wednesday night in a single-vehicle crash in Page County, according to Virginia State Police.

The crash took place on Middleburg Road at about 8:30 p.m.

Police said Thomas A. Buracker, 32, died at the scene.

Buracker was a passenger in a 1998 Ford Mustang driven by Christopher S. Green, 30, of Luray. Police said Green was headed east on Middleburg Road, about a half-mile from Va. 340 Business, when the vehicle veered right off the road while approaching a lefthand curve. The Mustang hit a ditch and overturned, police said.

Preliminary reports indicate that alcohol and speed were factors in the deadly crash, police said.

Neither Buracker nor Green were wearing a seatbelt, according to police. Both men were ejected.

Green was taken to Page Memorial Hospital. Virginia State Police did not release his medical condition.

Green is charged with involuntary manslaughter, reckless driving and driving with a suspended license, police said.
