NEWPORT NEWS, VA : Alcohol determined to be factor in crash that injured three in Newport News in the 5000 block of Jefferson Avenue on Friday, 1st March 2019

Newport News police say that alcohol was a factor in a Friday night crash that landed three people in the hospital.

Police tell us they responded to the crash just after 9:15 p.m. A car was traveling northbound in the 5000 block of Jefferson Avenue just when the driver hit a pole. According to police, the car was speeding.There were three people in the car at the time and all three had to be extricated. A 28-year-old man and 20-year-old woman in the driver seat and front passenger seat sustained serious injuries. A 22-year-old man in the back seat suffered life-threatening injuries.
