Harvard, IL : Harvard man dies in crash in the 20200 block of Route 173 on Saturday, 25th April, 2020

A 32-year-old Harvard man died as a result of a single-vehicle crash Saturday on Route 173.

Officers with the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and Harvard Police Department responded at 7:03 p.m. Saturday to a crash in the 20200 block of Route 173 Harvard.

Police later learned that the driver and sole occupant of a 2003 Ford F-250 had been traveling west on Route 173 when, for unknown reasons, the truck entered the eastbound lane of traffic, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office sent Monday morning.

The truck returned to the westbound lane before exiting the road to the north and overturning multiple times, according to the release.

The driver, who police have not identified by name, was not wearing a seat belt at the time and no air bags were deployed, according to the release. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
