DeLand, FL : Lake Helen man, 78, dies after scooter crash on Sunday, 18th October, 2020

A 78-year-old man died early Sunday morning after crashing his scooter in a DeLand neighborhood, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The unidentified man from Lake Helen was riding a scooter around 7 a.m. down Orange Camp Road, near Victoria Hills Drive, when he jumped a curb and was thrown from the scooter, said FHP spokeswoman Lt. Kim Montes.
The scooter then crashed into a pole.
Troopers are investigating whether the man endured a medical episode that may have caused the crash.
