Tallahassee,FL : Escambia County Sheriff's Office deputies save man from burning truck after fiery crash on November, Thursday 16th 2017
A trio of Escambia County Sheriff's Office deputies helped save a Crestview man's life when his picktruck burst into flames following a crash Thursday.
A Facebook post from the Sheriff's Office said a sergeant witnessed a black GMC pickup truck, driven by 26-year-old Harris McDonnel, crash into an impact attenuator truck of a construction crew on the eastbound lane of I-10, near mile marker 7, at about 3 a.m. Thursday.
The crash truck tried to merge into a closed construction lane, and McDonnel, unable to slow down, collided with the back of it, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The pick-up truck then burst into flames while McDonnel was trapped inside.
The sergeant's fire extinguisher reportedly ran out without putting much of a dent in the flames.
