Munfordville, KY : Two people injured in head-on collision in Hart County on Thursday, March 31, 2016
Two people were injured in a Hart County accident at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, according to a news release from Kentucky State Police.
The head-on crash happened in the 2000 block of Legrande Highway.
Police determined Kinly Denton, 18, of Horse Cave, was driving eastbound on Legrande in a 2015 Ford car and pulled into the westbound lane to pass a slower vehicle. Denton failed to see an oncoming vehicle and steered left in an attempt to avoid a collision but struck the vehicle head on, according to the release.
The westbound vehicle was a 1993 Buick driven by George Logsdon, 61, of Hardyville. Logsdon's vehicle came to a stop in the westbound lane and Denton's vehicle went off the west side of the road.
Logsdon was cut from his vehicle by the Horse Cave Fire and Rescue and was taken by the Hart County EMS to The Medical Center at Bowling Green for treatment of multiple injuries.
Denton was taken by private means to T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.
The investigation is being conducted by Trooper First Class Jonathan McChesney.
