Jackson County, W.V : Man injured in a farm tractor rollover accident in the Evans area on Wednesday, April 6, 2016
According to the driver the tour bus was going south on I-77 towards Charleston when the driver started to choke. That is what caused him to drift into the northbound lane and then exit the road. The driver said he choked on his coffee.
I-77 northbound is down to one lane while they prepare to tow the bus out, and once they begin towing the bus, both northbound lanes of I-77 will be shut down.
The Jackson County Sheriff's is investigating the accident.
A tour bus carrying staff/members of the Gregg Allman band has crashed in Jackson County, West Virginia. Gregg Allman, formerly of the Allman Brothers and now touring as a solo act, is not among those injured.
According to WOWK sources, 3 of the members of the production team transported to the hospital include a monitor engineer, production manager and an audio technician have been injured. Earl McCoy, Timothy Wright and Michael Gallun are the injured, WOWK has been able to confirm via their LinkedIn and Facebook profiles that they all are currently listed as working on the Gregg Allman tour. They are in stable condition at Charleston's CAMC General hospital.
The tour bus was going south, towards Charleston, crossed I-77 into the northbound lanes and exited the road according to wrecker crews on scene. It landed within feet of a creek near the 119 mile marker on I-77 near the Goldtown exit.
The Clay Center has not made any comment as to the status of the show. We are trying to contact them as of this writing. Also, Celebrity Coaches, who is listed on the back of the bus, has not contacted WOWK as well.
