SOUTH BEND, IN : 2 severely injured in South Bend hit-and-run crash on Thursday, 7th March 2024

Two people are recovering from severe injuries after a hit-and-run crash early Thursday morning in South Bend.

Officers were called just after 1:05 a.m. to a two-vehicle crash on Bendix Drive and Huron Street.

According to police, a vehicle was heading south on Bendix when it failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with another vehicle traveling west on Huron and a parked car.

When officers arrived, they said several passengers in the westbound vehicle ran away from the scene. Police said that vehicle was driven by a 31-year-old South Bend man, but they did not specify whether or not he also ran away from the scene.
