CINCINNATI, OH : 5 adults, 1 infant injured in multicar crash on Ronald Reagan on Wednesday, 22nd May 2019

Five adults and one infant were injured in a Tuesday evening crash on the Ronald Reagan Cross Country Highway, authorities said.

The crash happened around 5 p.m. Tuesday near Hamilton Avenue, shutting down the highway in both directions for more than three hours.Investigators said four cars were involved in the crash and two medical helicopters were called to the scene.

Police said Shannon Powers, 36, was driving east on the highway when he veered off the left side of the roadway, crossing into the median. Powers' car then went into the westbound lanes where it hit a Volkswagen head-on driven by Joseph Gargano, 61.

Powers' car then spun out of control and was hit by a Toyota driven by Alex Hunter, 31.

The crash caused Hunter's car to hit a Cadillac driven by William Key, 54.

Powers was taken to University Hospital by Aircare, where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
