Police have identified the motorcyclist who died of his injuries Monday after crashing through a truck window in downtown Sioux City

Police said 35-year-old Donnie Mohr, of Sioux City, died Monday after an accident that occurred around 7:45 a.m. in front of the Holiday Inn at the intersection of Gordon Drive and the northbound Interstate 29 business exit off ramp.

Sioux City Police said Mohr had been traveling eastbound on Gordon Drive on a motorcycle at a high rate of speed and ran a red light. The motorcycle crashed into a pickup truck driven by 31-year-old Luis Fernandez, of Midland, Texas, that was traveling north across Gordon Drive.

Mohr crashed through the back passenger window and landed in the back seat.

Mohr was transported to Mercy Medical Center -- Sioux City with critical injuries, where he was later pronounced dead.

Fernandez and a female passenger of the truck were treated for minor injuries.

A news release issued Tuesday morning said the accident remains under investigation.
