The westbound lanes of Interstate 90 in the city of Albany have reopened after being shut down for seven hours by a fatal crash.
Authorities say the accident occurred around 1 a.m. Friday when several vehicles crashed in I-90's westbound lanes between Exit 6 and Exit 5A.
State Department of Transportation officials tell local media that one person was killed.
The westbound lanes reopened around 8:10 a.m.
State police are investigating but haven't released any details.
The closure of the westbound lanes caused major backups during the morning commute because I-90 is a main route for motorists heading to jobs in the Albany area.
