Lyme Township, OH : Two Bellevue residents involved in crash on U.S. 20 at Prairie Road in Lyme Township on Friday, October 17, 2014

Two Bellevue residents were involved in a serious car crash just before 8 a.m. Friday on U.S. 20 at Prairie Road in Lyme Township. The Ohio State Highway Patrol indicates Robert E. Neidermier, 79, failed to yield at a stop sign when heading north and pulled into the path of Jennifer Sorrell, 21, who traveled eastward. Sorrell struck Neidermier, and both vehicles came to a rest in the median. Neidermier, driving a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado, was taken from the scene to The Bellevue Hospital and then transported by helicopter to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. He has incapacitating injuries. Sorrell, driving a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser, was taken to The Bellevue Hospital with minor injuries. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
