Rock Island,TN : Rock Island man killed in Saturday crash on June, Saturday 10th 2017

A Rock Island man was killed after being hit by a vehicle late Saturday night on Highway 70 South in Warren County.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol reported that Paul T. Ward, 36, was killed as he was standing outside of a vehicle with no lights stopped in the middle of two lanes of traffic on Highway 70 South.

Ward and the vehicle he was standing next to were simultaneously struck by a 2008 Toyota driven by a McMinnville woman, 23-year-old Sarah J. Simmons, who was injured.

Ward was pronounced dead at the scene. No citations were issued, and no charges have been filed in the crash that was investigated by Lt. William Prater.
