Marion County, OR : Jefferson Bridge closed, following a crash between tractor and hay trailer on Tuesday afternoon, Aug 4, 2015

The Jefferson Bridge in Marion County is closed after a crash left a tractor in the middle of the span Tuesday afternoon.

A truck pulling a trailer was headed east on the bridge as a tractor driven by Eric Dunphy headed west. In trying to avoid the trailer, the tractor's wheels caught the side of the bridge and caused the tractor to "jackknife," according to Tammy Robbins, public information officer with Jefferson Fire District.

The driver of the truck and trailer did not stop, according to a news release from Jefferson Fire District.

Hazard material teams are cleaning up the diesel spill from the tractor. Oregon Department of Transportation bridge engineers are also on scene to determine if there is any structural damage to the bridge.

No injuries have been reported.
