Knoxville, TN : 13-year-old steals mom's van, crashes on James White Parkway on May 29th 2014

A 13-year-old boy crashed a van Thursday morning after he entered the ramp off James White Parkway traveling in the wrong direction.

Knoxville police noticed that a van crashed into a concrete wall on the ramp from James White Parkway to Hill Avenue at 6 a.m.

Crews took the teenager to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.

Police said the 13-year-old took the vehicle without permission while his mother was sleeping.

Officials said they're still investigating the incident.
