SUMTER, SC : Officials release identities involved in single-car crash on Sunday, December 18th 2016
The Sumter Police Department has released the identities of two people who died in a single-car crash on Sunday.
Officials say 34-year-old Calvin Leneau and 22-year-old Darius Ford died at the scene of the accident. The third person in the crash, 33-year-old Terence King, is listed in stable condition and is expected to recuperate from his injuries.
The accident happened around 6:30 a.m. on Guignard Drive, just south of Liberty Street in Sumter.
Tonyia McGirt, public information officer for the Sumter Police Department said officers and fire officials responded to the crash involving a 1995 Nissan Maxima. King was taken to Palmetto Health Tuomey Hospital but was later transported to Palmetto Health Richland Hospital for his injuries.
The cause and circumstances of the crash are unknown at this time. However, the investigation is still ongoing.
