Atlanta,GA : Man charged with DUI after wreck on may, Saturday 20th 2017
A Norman Park man faces DUI and other charges stemming from a Friday evening single-car accident on Clark Road that police say was caused by excessive speed.
Domingo Maceda-Gonzalez, 44, was driving east on Clark Road when he lost control of the 2003 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck he was driving, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
The accident occurred at 9:08 p.m. about one-half mile east of Ellis May Road, agency reports said.
That location is about midway between Ellenton and Moultrie.
Police said that after losing control of the truck Maceda-Gonzalez was heading toward the right-side ditch. He turned the wheel to the left to avoid the ditch, overcorrected and failed to maintain control as the truck traveled off the left side of the road.
The truck struck a tree and came to a rest upright facing southeast, GSP reports said. An alcohol test is pending.
Maceda-Gonzalez, 2775 Ellenton-Norman Park Road, Norman Park, was treated at Colquitt Regional Medical Center and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.
After he left the hospital police drove him to Colquitt County Jail, where he was booked on charges of driving under the influence, expired driver’s license and driving too fast for conditions, jail records said.
