Escondido, CA : Fatal head-on crash in Escondido leaves one driver dead, another with major injuries on Thursday, 28th November, 2019

A 47-year-old Escondido man was killed Thursday afternoon when his car crashed head-on into another vehicle on Del Dios Road in Escondido while he was not wearing a seat belt.

The crash on the Del Rios Road, west of Mt. Israel Road, occurred around 2 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.CHP officials said investigators have not yet determined the cause of the accident, however it is believed that the man’s vehicle, a Toyota Tundra, entered a left-hand curve at an unsafe speed for the wet weather conditions while traveling east. The vehicle spun out and crossed into the path of oncoming traffic from the westbound lane striking another driver’s vehicle head-on.
