Marietta, GA : Two people killed in a fatal, head-on collision in Powder Springs on Monday, August 15, 2016

Cobb police are investigating a fatal, head-on collision that took place at about 5:40 a.m. Monday on Macland Road and McMurry Drive in Powder Springs that left two people dead.

The driver of a gold, 1998 Ford Crown Victoria was driving on the wrong side of Macland Road when it collided head on with a green 1999 Plymouth Voyager van at the intersection with McMurry Drive, according to Cobb police.

Powder Springs resident Richard Dow, 86, was driving the Ford and was killed as a result of the impact. His wife, Mary Jane Dow, 88, was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital but later died as a result of her injuries.

Karlisa Darby, 22, of Dallas, was driving the Plymouth and was also transported to WellStar, where she is expected to survive her injuries, according to police.
